Every year at my middle school, we had to do a science fair project. The assignment was worth over half of our grade, and they had to be original (no volcanoes.) My mother never had the patience for any of my projects, therefore I mainly had to do these by myself for years. I would spend weeks on this project, trying to make my project perfect. At first, I would pick harder projects unknowingly. One of my first projects, in about the fourth, was on the reaction of a balloon that was filled with various liquids. Not only was this project messy, but it involved bringing many different items and balloons to school to perform in front of many. I was very nervous and spilled part of my project. After a couple of years, I figured out easier and less messy ideas for my project. These mainly involved the observations of my pets. The last project I did involved finding out which toy the different dogs preferred the most and why. Although these were difficult at first, I soon learned to make it easier on myself and have a better performance. With this, from the fifth grade to the eighth grade, I won either third or second place out of all the students in my school. From there, I also got to compete with other schools doing scinece fair projects. It was a fun and unique experience that I will never forget.
